Smart Education successfully conducted the TOEFL® ITP tests at the National Accounting Institute on Aug 29 2014 in Beijing. Students took TOEFL® ITP for placement, exchange program and admissions to their partnering graduate schools. TOEFL® ITP test in Shanghai

TOEFL® ITP tests are being used internationally as the basis of measuring students’English proficiency for placement, progress monitoring, exiting testing, scholarship and visa programs. Duke Summer College for High School Students Program

Duke University was renowned as the “South Harvard”, high school students who were admitted by Duke Summer College would study a 4-week professional program at Duke. Duke University would also provide many extra-curricular activities for the students. After the 4-week program, students will receive 1 credit, which is recognized by most American Universities.

TOUR DE TAIWAN 2014 International Volunteer Recruitment

The TOUR DE TAIWAN 2014 is registered as UCI 2.1 class leading race by International Cycling Union, the most indicative and largest-scale tournament in Asia, as well as the most influential stage race to Taiwan’s cycling industry.

Effective August, 2013, Smart Education was further appointed by Educational Testing Service (ETS) as the official representative of the TOEFL® ITP Assessment Series in Southern China. Smart Education now works with colleges, universities, language schools and educational institutions to provide students in China with valid, fair and reliable English-language assessments.

In Nov 2013, Smart Education appointed the Language Training and Testing Center, Training and Education College of Yunnan Normal University as an official TOEFL ® ITP test center. TOEFL ® ITP has officially landed in Kunming and Yunnan region!

Language Training and Testing Center, Training and Education College of Yunnan Normal University is the only foreign language training center in Yunnan Normal University. The Center works to create a set of scientific models of English language teaching. Boston University’s Center for English Language & Orientation Programs (CELOP) recently reported that its faculty prepares international students by providing intensive English language instruction along with cultural and academic orientation.

In addition, students take TOEFL ITP and the results and evaluation from the CELOP classes help their students gain full admission to BostonUniversity.

Smart Education, the official ETS representative in Hong Kong & Macao, have the honor to have invited Ms. Annabelle Simpson, Director of ETS Global Institute and Channel Expansion-Latin America from Princeton, NJ to conduct the “Propell Teacher Workshop for the TOEFL® tests for English Language Teachers”.  The Workshop was successfully held in the Macau Educational and Youth Affairs, Pui Ching Middle School (Macau) and Lai King Assessment Centre, Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority on 22, 23 and 25 October respectively.

Propell Teacher Workshop for the TOEFL® tests for English Language Teachers

Led by an ETS-approved trainer in an interactive, hands-on classroom setting, the Propell® workshop is a one-day professional development program designed to help English-language teachers successfully teach students English as a second language.

TOEFL iBT ®test strategies

The workshop uses examples from all four sections of the TOEFL iBT® test: Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing. It provides instructional techniques and strategies for using the integrated-skills approach to teaching language and for preparing students for success.

Propell Workshop kit and certificate

Participants received a Propell workshop kit that will guide them through stimulating sessions on teaching techniques and activities and help them learn more about the benefits of the TOEFL tests. The workshop was also an opportunity to interact with peers and provide feedback to help us improve and develop assessments that meet their needs. Participants also received a Certificate upon completion of the workshop.

With our effort for the past two years, the TOEIC® test has recently been approved in the “Continuing Education and Development Program”, launched by the Macao Education & Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ). Macao residents can take the TOEIC® tests free of charge, as DSEJ would provide funding to support all approved programs. Also, TOEFL has been approved as one of the internationally recognized language assessments in the “Language Certification Pilot Project” launched by (DSEJ). The Scheme is to encourage teachers and senior secondary school students in Macao to take part in these assessments in order to prove their language proficiency and increase their competitiveness locally and internationally. Therefore, a lot of teachers and students visited our booth to learn more about the tests during the Fair.

Moreover, Mr. Kevin Chan, President of Smart Education was invited by the School of Continuing Studies, City University of Macau to hold a talk on “Achieve more with the SAT tests”. The SAT is a standardized test for most college admissions in the United States. The talk allowed students to understand how SAT can help them fulfill their dreams and achieve more. Mr. Vincent Cheng, Sales Director – Global Assessments Division of Smart Education also shared with students how TOEIC and TOEFL tests could help them prepare for success.

On 3 July Good Hope School invited Smart Education, the official representative of TOEFL® tests in Hong Kong and Macao, to demonstrate how the TOEFL® tests could help the senior secondary students compete in the 21^st Century. Smart Education explained how TOEFL® could benefit participants and gave some examples of universities in the U.S., Canada, U.K., and Australia that accept TOEFL® scores in their admission processes.

Earlier this year, F.3 students from Good Hope School took the TOEFL® Junior _™ test. The excellent results they achieved showed that Good Hope School is not only one of the top schools in Hong Kong, but is also a school whose students have an internationally recognized high standard of English proficiencies.
